Help to Those Affected by Hurricane Sandy

From the first hours after Hurricane Sandy’s impact, the Russian Center in New York was at ground zero in Brooklyn, working in relief centers and in shelters delivering supplies, food, water, clothes, first aid kits and clothing items. The majority of the people we interacted with were native Russian speakers. Many did not speak English. We coordinated help and relief efforts between the local population and the local and state authorities, charity organizations, the Red Cross and FEMA.
